The Italian short film industry. The 2014 Report, curated by Jacopo Chessa is an in-depth research on the production and release of Italian shorts . For the first time, facts and figures are available about a sector which is far from marginal, since it involves about 200 festivals and more than 1,000 films alone in the course of 2014, the year in question. In addition to figures, there are detailed analyses by experts in the sector which examine various fundamental issues: from movie theaters at festivals, to television and the scenario in other European countries. This work is based on the assumption that the short film, which is still today the workshop par excellence of the audiovisual, should be treated from a market perspective even though it is scarcely done.
