December, 21st 2022 – SHORT FILM DAY

INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM DAY

Screenings around the world

December 21st is the winter solstice, which, in addition to officially kicking off the harshest season, is also the shortest day of the year: the hours of daylight, between sunrise and sunset, are in fact shorter than any other day on the calendar.
That is why, all over the world, the winter solstice is an occasion to celebrate the short form of film, with theatrical programming, events and festivals, for what is called SHORT FILM DAY.

Short Film Day is an opportunity to access short film production that rarely makes it to theaters, confined mostly within the festival circuit, yet is able to meet with public favor for its originality and freshness.

The 2022 edition offers all Italian Diplomatic Representations Abroad a program of short films made available free of charge to exhibitors of the Italian Short Film Center and screenable from December 19th to 23rd.

The program is dedicated to contemporary Italian productions, and is a kind of overview of the best of recent short production.
